Please congratulate our new PAC members!

Updated: Sep 29, 2020

You voted, and the Parent Advisory Council for HHES has been selected. Please join us in congratulating Marisa Simmons and Mike Steele!

Marisa Simmons is the parent to a first grader at HHES and will have another student starting next fall. She practiced as an attorney here in Atlanta for 6 years before transitioning into attorney recruiting 6 years ago. She is a graduate of Georgia State University College of Law and attended Georgia Tech for undergrad (go Jackets!). In the fall, you can find Marisa cheering for any of Atlanta’s pro sports teams (and Tech, of course), or running the streets of Huntley Hills neighborhood.

Mike Steele is a local business owner and leader, and his goal for serving on the PAC is to serve our community and our school. He currently has a Pre-K student and has a vested interest in maintaining HHES as a top school for years to come. He have served as a volunteer leader for Boy Scouts, the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, in various capacities at the YMCA, and for youth sports. Mike currently operates multiple Aqua-Tots Swim Schools in the Atlanta area, and is very experienced at creating community partnerships to benefit children and families. Mike believes he would be the perfect liaison between local businesses, our school, and our community.

Taylor Deese is our teacher on the Principal Advisory Council. In the past, she served on many leadership committees and understands the importance of listening to other’s perspectives and ideas. Taylor promises to be the voice for not only our students but also our teachers and to provide a better understanding of the needs of our school and encourage more engagement from our community. She has also given back to the community working alongside with Hands on Atlanta, Hope for Christmas, Boys and Girls Club, Trees of Atlanta, Race for the Cure, Habitat for Humanity, as an executive member for Zeta Tau Alpha, as well as, organized a charitable event that promoted and raised funds for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness.
