NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Updated: Mar 28, 2021

New Updates: March 28

We are excited to have both cohorts begin Monday, March 29! To ensure social distancing, teachers have removed access furniture to accommodate all students and maintain social distancing.

It's that time of year to plan for the 2021-2022 school year. If you are the parent/guardian of a PK-4 student, please take a moment and let us know if you will be returning to Huntley Hills next year. I want to acknowledge the uncertainty of the district's model and please know your selection is not binding. This process simply lets us know if you plan to move outside our attendance zone and inform class rosters. Should we have an alternate district model, you will receive further information down the road with a choice. All registration information you need is located here, just scroll down.

Our school will go through STEM recertification May 5, 2021, please take a moment and complete the STEM parent survey if you have not done so.

As we move into our last week before spring break, I want to wish you all a safe and healthy break!

Sincerely,

Dr. Ford

Happy March!

Thank you for all of your patience and collaboration with us to make this a successful transition for all of our students. We were so excited to welcome back our tigers F2F! I want to extend a huge amount of gratitude to the entire Huntley Hills staff. Their amazing dedication and hard work to ensure that all of our students are able to access learning, both in-person and remotely, and in a safe and healthy environment is unmatched.

As you know, student safety is our # 1 priority. DCSD developed a capacity model for schools to align with CDC and DPH for social distancing in the classroom. When both A and B cohorts return on March 29th, a few of our classrooms will be over capacity. If your child’s class is impacted by the number of students returning face-to-face, you will receive communication on the plan Monday, March 22nd. As a reminder, the DCSD window for parents to change from F2F to virtual or virtual to F2F is March 22-April 2nd. The change will begin Thursday, April 29th.

As a piece of great news, DCSD has partnered with the Board of Heath and Walgreens to vaccinate teachers and staff. Vaccinations begin as early as March 19th!

Lastly, our school will go through STEM recertification May 5, 2021, please take a moment and complete the STEM parent survey. For more information about important dates, yearbooks and updates at the school click here to read more.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ford
