Hello Huntley Hill Tigers. It’s been so nice having you all back in building doing what we do best, which is academic learning! We had a fun morning today, beginning with our Tiger Fundraiser Kickoff and honoring the number one tiger in our building Dr. Mia Ford, Happy Boss Day! Our students grazed our halls with cards and posters to show their love for Dr. Ford. It was nice to see smiles, dancing and the love in the air that was shown this morning in our school halls and classrooms.
In the counseling arena, Dr. Collins has been in the K-2 classrooms providing social emotional guidance lessons to students and providing individual and group counseling sessions with our little ones. The Tiger Buck store was a success along with our Backpack program and we Thank You Dr. Collins for all of your support.
We had our Student Council elections on 9/30/21. Yeah! Our new members are:
Thomas Rumple, Jimena Estrada-Dia, Caremen Arreaga Molina, Maya Smyth, Cristofer Diaz-Ruiz, Emelin Miranda, Jacinto De Leon Velasquez, Afreeda Boktiar, Kathy Martin, Jazmine Green, Soloead Ryan, Jayk Phelps, Deepavali Bhattacharya, and Keegan Roney.
Congratulations to all the winners. Thank you, student council for passing out code of conduct handbooks to all teachers for students to take home before fall break. Right now student council are working on getting ready for Red Ribbon Week.
We had our first mentor/mentee celebration on 9/22/2021. Our theme was Super Hero and our mentors provided super hero t-shirts for their mentees and we all enjoyed snacks and great conversations in the media center. Our next mentor/mentor social will be on 10/ 20/2021 and we will wear orange to show unity for kindness and be a part of no child should ever experience bullying campaign.
It was nice chatting with our 5th grade young ladies in the counseling office on 10/13/21. I enjoy having life conversations. It was a good time and we have many larger group sessions in the near future.
It has been a lot going on but we preserve, please continue to follow safety guidelines because we are still in pandemic mode. The year is moving quickly and our counseling team will always be here to ensure our students are provided with tools and resources needed to be successful in the Huntley Hills school environment. No child is invisible and our goal is excellence for all.
LET’S GO TIGERS!
