Update: Jan. 31

This year, over 90 school spelling bee champions in grades 4-8 participated in the DeKalb County School District Spelling Bee, which was conducted asynchronously using the Scripps Online Platform. Congratulations are extended to all school winners for their achievement at the local school level! Thank you to all school spelling bee chairs and administrators for helping students and parents navigate the new format.

The Department of K-12 Curriculum and Instruction is pleased to announce that the following students qualified to represent the DeKalb County School District in the Region 4 Georgia Association of Educators (GAE) Spelling Bee, which will be conducted in February through the Scripps Online Platform.

Participants in the Region 4 GAE Spelling Bee will have an opportunity to advance to the state and national competitions. Additional information about the annual GAE Spelling Bee can be accessed at https://gae.org/community-programs/gae-state-spelling-bee/.

Congratulations to Sanjeda Jamal, in Ms. Tilly's class! Due to Sanjeda’s performance on the school-level online test, she will be moving on to represent Huntley Hills Elementary at the district level, in the DeKalb County School District Spelling Bee.
